Sleep For Creativity and Power

What is sleep?

Sleep is a naturally recurring state of mind and body, characterized by altered consciousness, relatively inhibited sensory activity, inhibition of nearly all voluntary muscles, and reduced interactions with surroundings.

It is distinguished from wakefulness by a decreased ability to react to stimuli but is more easily reversed than the state of being comatose. Sleep occurs in repeating periods, in which the body alternates between two distinct modes known as non-REM and REM sleep. Although REM stands for "rapid eye movement", this mode of sleep has many other aspects, including virtual paralysis of the body. A well-known feature of sleep is the dream, an experience typically recounted in narrative form, which resembles waking life while in progress, but which usually can later be distinguished as fantasy. During sleep, most of the body's systems are in an anabolic state, helping to restore the immune, nervous, skeletal, and muscular systems; these are vital processes that maintain mood, memory, and cognitive performance, and play a large role in the function of the endocrine and immune systems. The internal circadian clock promotes sleep daily at night. The diverse purposes and mechanisms of sleep are the subject of substantial ongoing research. The advent of artificial light has substantially altered sleep timing in industrialized countries.

Benefits of "SLEEP"

  • Refresh the mind and increase productivity
  • Rejuvenate brain, which helps in creative thinking
  • Increase alertness
  • Less frustration
  • A sense of satisfaction and ready to work when needed for long hours or on a tight deadline
  • Multi-Tasking - Human brains are good at switching between activities quickly, which makes people feel like they're multitasking. The brain, however, is working on one project at a time.
  • No talking so no option to say anything "which is not suitable", reduces the chances of mistake done while talking and maybe a sin through a word.
All these points subconsciously followed and I prefer to do "AARAM" and "SLEEP".

If I am free and no priority work I prefer to sleep and make my self prepare for other tasks or days.

I often get criticized due to this, my friends, family, and even in few interviews.

After my B.Tech in a couple of initial interviews when they ask
  • What you do in your free time?
  • What are your hobbies?
  • What you like?
  • What you will do during a long holiday?

Somehow I often talk about  "AARAM" and "SLEEP"

During the time of result, my name was not there even when I cleared written, GD, Tech Interview, etc

It was something annoying that after all why the selection is not happening.

I talked to cell, senior, guide, counseling, and then by the feedback, I realized that speaking and accepting the truth did not let me get a job. They might be thinking that I procrastinate or I am lazy hahahhaa.

It did not stop doing so but I changed the way it was presented earlier.

Hustle

Eat, Sleep, Repeat

21 hr continuous sleep is my record during hostel days. Staying awake is around 40 hr.

Sleeping for 14 hr is normal for me if I don't have any important work to do. During the weekend even now I do that to recharge myself. During the workday, 8 hr is sufficient for me.

After a 5km, 10km 21km RUN, I prefer to have a good diet and then go for around 12-14 hr sleep.

Even I  dream about NAPS.

And I don't like tobacco stuff or any liquor though I know much all about brand and price before COVID, because during COVID the price got increased and there is no way to go outside home so not aware about the new price.

Few of my decade-old post and friends' comment for "SLEEP"

Stress and lots of work reduce sleep automatically by the way and participate in aging.

In short "SLEEP" is my strength not a weakness in any way. I am happy when I sleep only when the sleep is after a productive day.
